1400 Miles Later
Vacation has finally come to an end. New England was wonderful and we wish we could start all over. Here is a quick overview of our route: Alexandria/Wash DC, across Maryland, Pennsylvania (Gettysburg, Pocono Mountains), across New York, Vermont (Green Mountains, Rutland, Killington, Montpelier, Stowe, Burlington, Vergennes), New Hampshire (Kancamagus Hwy thru the White Mountains, Lake Winnipesaukee, Concord, Manchester, Seabrook), Salem, Massachusetts, and Maine (Cape Neddick, Portland). Raija got a little sick on the last night and morning, but she was great during the whole trip and handled moving from hotel to hotel with no problems. She loves seeing nature (she even ate her first rock during the trip!) and finding plenty of things to play with and discover. She met everyone, including strangers, with a smile and a wave. Sometimes, she even spouted some of her happy babble for them. She had great fun playing with hotel cups, a few new toys from small-town toy shops and tearing up our maps & brochures. Here are some pictures from upstate New York, Vermont and New Hampshire. I will post more from the rest of the trip soon!
